Delmar’s Kidney/Pinto Bean Chili

1 pound ground beef
1 - 14.5 oz can tomato sauce
1 - 14.5 oz can kidney beans (with liquid)
1 - 14.5 oz can pinto beans (with liquid)
1/2 cup diced onion
1/4 cup diced green chilies
1/4 cup diced celery
2 med tomatoes, chopped
1 teaspoon cumin powder
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup water
 
Brown beef in skillet over med heat, drain off fat. Using fork, crumble beef
into pea-size pieces.
In a large pot, combine all ingredients and bring to a simmer over a low
heat. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes for 2 to 3 hours.
