MARK YOUNG

Mark Young is a Family Physician in Greeley since 1989. He has been with Journey since its inception, and served on the initial steering committee to plant Journey in 1999. Mark has served as an elder for the past three years. he grew up in Lakewood, CO and met his lovely wife, Michelle, at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. Mark went to medical school in Houston, TX and completed his family practice residency in Greeley, CO.

He has been married for 28 years and has with three children; Melissa, 24, who is in grad school in Pennsylvania; Mitchell, 23, married to Leigh for almost a year and in ministry training in Pennsylvania; and Mackenzie, 18, who just graduated from Greeley West High School and will be attending Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington this fall.

His wife Michelle is a home nurse for RVNA in Greeley and in their spare time they enjoy hiking, biking, camping, skiing, reading, gardening and love time just being together. Currently, they are leading a home Journey Group and have been involved in worship ministry, care group ministry, youth ministry and adult education in the past.

GARY HAMILTON

Gary Hamilton has been attending Journey for over seven years; five of those he has been serving as an elder. Gary says he feels called to be an encourager and enjoys spending time calling and visiting with people who need prayer. Gary chooses to follow his life according to 1 Thessalonians 9:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Gary is also the co-chairman of the Wheelin’ Sportsman program for Larimer County; this organization helps handicap people and those in wheel chairs enjoy hunting and fishing. He is also involved in helping the Hunter’s Care program which provides hundreds of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to those in need.

ALAN MILLER

Alan Miller has served as an elder at Journey since 2001. Teaching others
about Christ, especially children, is his greatest passion. He has taught
kids' Bible school classes for more than 30 years, as well as numerous adult
classes and small groups.

Alan grew up in Greeley and met his wife, Denise, while attending Abilene
Christian University in Abilene, Texas. He went on to graduate school and
received a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
He is assistant public affairs manager for State Farm Insurance at the
company's regional headquarters in Greeley.

Alan and Denise have been married for 35 years and have two grown children:
Lauren and Eric. Lauren and husband Giorgi live in Greeley and have one
young daughter, Anna. Eric is in graduate school at the Colorado School of
Mines in Golden.

ARRON CHAMBERS

Lead Minister

Arron's passion is Jesus. He loves talking about, writing about, and serving Jesus. Arron’s life goal is: “To go to Heaven and take as many people with me as possible!”

Arron’s is also passionate about his family. He has an incredible wife (Rhonda) and four beautiful kids (Ashton, Levi, Sylas, & Payton). When he’s not working Arron loves running, hiking, training for triathlons, reading, watching Apollo 13 (again), playing Xbox, writing, and hanging out with his kids.

MATT ESTRIN

Worship Minister

Matt Estrin loves Jesus and loves to Worship Jesus through music.  Matt
first got into full time ministry working with the Fellowship of Christian
Athletes National Golf Ministry, serving as their director of camps.   In
2006 he began to transition into music ministry taking a part-time worship
minister position at a church in Florida and eventually became a full-time
worship minister after moving to Colorado.

Bill Hybles, Senior Pastor of Willow Creek Church, said in his book
Courageous Leadership, “The local church is the hope of the world.”   Matt
believes that not only is the local church the hope of the world, but that
music is a huge tool in bringing that hope to the world!

Matt has been married to Trista Estrin since May of 2005.  They have a
daughter Samantha, born in October of 2009 and a dog named Bauer, after Jack
Bauer of the TV show 24.

TERRY DAVIS

Family Minister

Terry Davis believes that strong Christian families are a vital part of making an impact on the community and the world in the name of Jesus.

That is why for 20 years he has devoted himself to working with youth, parents, and youth sponsors.

Terry graduated from Florida Christian College with a Bachelors Degree in preaching and youth ministry in 1992. Since then he has worked as a youth minister in Jacksonville and Indiana and spent 6 years working in the Recruitment office of Florida Christian College as Director of Admissions.

Terry has also had the opportunity to preach at various youth conventions and retreats across the country. He strongly believes that his most important ministry is to his own family which includes his wife Tammy and four children (Madison, Josiah, Sawyer, and Jaden).

He loves spending his free time hanging out with his family, camping, playing the drums, and listening to U2. Terry and Tammy feel extremely blessed to be a part of the wonderful family at Journey Christian Church.

TERI BEAVER

Children's Minister

Teri Beaver and her husband Bill are proud parents of Savanna and Levi, both of whom have degrees and have begun their careers out of state. They are also the proud parents of Jacinda (J.P.), who is a Journey teen. They have been members of Journey since 2004.

Teri has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from University of Northern Colorado, a Master’s Degree in Whole Learning from Regis University, and a Certificate of Theology from the Theological Education Institute. She has been involved in children’s ministry since 1984, seven years of which was in full time ministry. She is in her 24th year of teaching elementary school. The most recent years have been in a Christian school called Heritage Christian Academy in Fort Collins.

She loves children passionately and loves the Lord even more. What better career could she have than one in which she can help children fall as much in love with Jesus as she is? Her mission at Journey is to do just that, and to help lead other adults in that mission as well.

DARLENE SCHROEDER

Children's Minister and Office Assistant

Darlene Schroeder has lived in the Northern Colorado area for most of her life. She has four children and 5 grandchildren. In her free time she loves spending time with her family, boating, scrapbooking, and serving with Family Life.

Darlene has a passion for the children's ministry and spends many hours making sure the program is well run using her organizational skills. She has been serving in Journey's Children's Ministry for 9 years. Prior to that, she and her husband Errol served as Children's Education Directors at their previous church.

JESSICA SPRIGG

Office Manager

Jessica Sprigg joined the Journey staff as the Office Manage in May 2010. Jessica came to Greeley from Norton, KS in order to attend the University of Northern Colorado and major in Business Management. She plans to graduate in spring 2011.

Jessica believes that being sociable is a God given gift and tries to use it to serve Him whenever possible. She loves having spontaneous Christ centered conversations, whether it's walking to class or picking out out watermelons in the grocery store. She loves meeting new people, so stop by the office and say hello.

PATRICK LIGHTFOOT

Associate Ministry Intern

Patrick and his wife Hannah came to Journey Christian Church back in 2002. They both have felt the call to go into full time ministry over 2 years ago. Since then, Patrick and Hannah have been blessed by the Journey Staff and Elders to be working once a week as Associate Ministry Intern the past 10 months. During this time, that they have experienced has been unbelievable. Patrick's eyes have been opened to God’s calling in his life and what he has made me to do; serve Him and others. Patrick and Hannah want to continue this call and are looking at education opportunities this fall.

Patrick and Hannah have been married for 12 years and have 2 children, son Nolan is 6 ½ (yes the ½ is very important to Nolan) and daughter Libby is 4. Patrick loves to waterfowl hunt in the winter. You can find him in a duck blind or goose pit every Saturday from October-December and spin classes at the gym on Tuesday and Thursday nights. In the summer we love to garden, camp, fish, and road bike. Patrick has been blessed beyond my wildest dreams with a Godly wife and 2 hilarious kids. Their family wants to live life to the fullest in all that they do.

JORDAN STANCIL

Associate Ministry Intern

Jordan Stancil is the Associate Ministry Intern here at Journey for the Summer 2010. he was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. Jordan has two older brothers and best parents in the world. He is currently a Sophomore at Florida Christian College and getting a degree in Bible and Humanities.

Jordan is passionate about the bible, Jesus, and doing Kingdom work. His goal is to be above reproach in everything he does and to lead by serving. In his free time, Jordan loves playing sports, watching movies, traveling, reading, hanging out with friends and family, and being in the great outdoors.

DANNY PAPPAS

Worship Ministry Intern

Danny is a college student, currently pursuing his Associates in business at Aims Community College, and planning to transfer to UNC. He feels the call on his life Worship Pastor for a living, and believes that Journey is an incredible place to learn and grow. He is extremely passionate about worshipping God, and couldn't think of anything he'd rather do with his life.

In his spare time, Danny enjoys hiking, watching movies, playing frisbee, weight-lifting, and writing music. He is very adamant about physical fitness, and also has a second-degree black belt in Taekwon-Do.
