Purpose

Our purpose is to bring people to Jesus Christ and help them become fully committed followers of Him.

Beliefs

God is the only God and is the Creator of everything (Genesis 1; John 1:1-3.)

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was born among us, was crucified on a cross, and was raised from death by God. Jesus Christ is our personal Lord and Savior, forgives us of our wrongs and the leader of our lives (John 1:14; John 3:16-18.)

God’s forgiveness comes only through Christ and is a gift from Him because of His grace and love (2 Corinthians 5:14; Ephesians 2:4.)

The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit and is present and working in the daily lives of Christians to direct us and help us live a Christ-like life (John 16:5-16; Romans 8:9-11.)

The Bible is God’s Word and is the authority and guide for all that we say and all that we do (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16-17.)

Baptism, as taught and practiced by Jesus Himself, is by immersion in water symbolizing His own death, burial, and resurrection as well as the believer’s commitment to follow Him (Mark 1:9-13; Romans 6:1-11.)

Christ is the head of the church. We submit ourselves and all our activities to His will as we are led by the Bible and His Spirit (Philippians 2:9-11; Ephesians 5:23.)

Because immersed Christians are united in a dynamic relationship with Christ, they are also united with one another and therefore enjoy the privilege of church membership (1 Corinthians 12:12-13.)

As was the custom of the church in the New Testament, the communion of theLord’s Supper is shared weekly among followers of Jesus Christ (Acts 20:7; Luke 22:7-22.)

Resurrection from the dead to eternal life with Christ is for all Christians (1 Corinthians 15:50-58.)

Values

Worship: Through our worship, which is culturally relevant, we acknowledge, honor, and praise God for all He has done, is doing, and will do in the future (Romans 12:1-2.)

Biblical Teaching: We strive to teach God’s Word with integrity and authority so that those who seek Christ will find Him and believers will mature in Him (2 Timothy 3:16.)

Prayer: We rely on individual and corporate prayer in the conception, planning, and execution of all the ministries and activities of this church (Matthew 7:7-11.)

Relationships: We ask all our people to be involved in biblically-functioning small groups where they may grow in Christ and in relationship with others (Acts 2:44-46.)

Family: We are committed to helping people build strong, Christian marriages and healthy, Christian families, whether single-parent or two-parent families. Our desire is that their faith be passed down from generation to generation (Ephesians 5:22-33; Deuteronomy 6:1-9.)

Lost People: We value and love lost people and use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win, and disciple them (Luke 19:10.)

Giftedness: We strive to help each person discover their unique God-given gifts and help them use those gifts to God’s glory (Romans 12:4-8.)

Cultural Relevance: We constantly evaluate our ministry, seeking to be culturally relevant in order to maximize ministry effectiveness for Christ (1 Corinthians 9:22.

Ministry Excellence: Since God gave his best, Jesus Christ, we seek to honor Him by continually improving, striving toward a high standard of excellence in all our ministries and activities (Colossians 3:23-24.)

Missions / Planting Churches: As stated in our Purpose Statement, our purpose is to bring people to Jesus Christ and help them become fully committed followers of Him. We will do this by sharing the Good News of Jesus with those in our own community, by supporting both foreign and domestic ministries outside our church, and by planting new churches (Matthew 28:18-20.)

Unity: In matters of biblical faith we have unity, in matters of opinion we have liberty, and in all things we have love. (John 17)

Vision

God has given us the vision to be a church in the Greeley area that is: a biblically functioning, Acts 2 community of believers, relevant to this age and this culture, reaching lost people with the gospel, assimilating them into the church family, and equipping them and empowering them to live for Christ.

Our vision is to be a church where people can hold their heads high because they have found hope, grace, freedom, and forgiveness—where they can be part of a family that loves them and where they can see a future that is indeed bright.

We envision the day when this church is caring for the poor and inviting them into our family, a church that welcomes all people regardless of ethnicity, and a church where all people—whether children, teenagers, college students, singles, married, middle-aged or gray-headed folks—will know there is a place for them in the body of Christ and that they matter to God.

We want to be a church where people can recognize the dreams God has for them and where they are using their God-given gifts for His praise and glory.

We want to be a church filled with life and love, made up of people from all walks of life who look forward to worship; a church through whom God will move so powerfully that the number of lives changed will be measurable only through divine accounting.

We believe this is the kind of church God wants and we are committed to being His servants so that these dreams will become reality.
